Our mission at Character Booster is to empower parents by connecting the time their child spends playing video games with real productive activity and learning experiences that will build that child’s character. We believe parents will use this tool creatively to challenge their kids and help them reach new heights.
Character Booster is an app that turns kids' love of video games into an incentive for productivity, learning, and building character. Parents add productive tasks and chores into a convenient chore list in our app. Kids mark the chores complete in their own fun and kid themed interface. When creating each task the parent assigns a reward of game effecting stat points such as strength points for mowing the lawn, dexterity points for putting toys away, etc.
Game developers have partnered to add special powers and abilities in kids' favorite games which can only be utilized with the stat points the kids earn by completing tasks and chores.
Parents benefit from, among other things, a convenient and mobile way to keep up with their kids' activities, the ability to maintain a clear list of chores and playful tasks, a tool to leverage their kids' love of video games to inspire good character and behavior.
Kids benefit from new powers and abilities in games they'll love, opportunities to request guidance and activities from their parents where they might not have previously, and a subtle understanding as they grow older that their productive actions not only built their game characters but shaped who they are in the real world too.
Game developers turn their ability to create fun and exciting games into an ability to help parents guide their kids. Pursuing excellence in game development becomes an indirect benefit to a fantastic cause. Game developers also receive a portion of Character Booster's revenues according to measures of activity and contribution.
The team at Character Booster believes that we should leverage any success that may come to pursue our mission of promoting good character outside the direct benefits of our own efforts. To accomplish this, we donate 25% of our revenues to charities that pursue such goals in different and effective ways.
Character Booster will be entering private beta soon and participation will be by invitation only. Character Booster will be a freemium service supported by advertising, very inexpensive premium accounts, and small fees to add additional kids to a parent account.
